Film Program
Performa’s film programs this year include the first-ever Performa Commission by a filmmaker (Guy Maddin’s Tales From the Gimli Hospital: Reframed), a Bergman-inspired performance by a visual artist (Ming Wong’s Persona Performa), a new film by Jonas Mekas that compiles rare personal materials celebrating Fluxus (Fluxus Cabaret), a film series that explores the connections between stand-up comedy and visual art from the 1970s to the present (Not Funny), and a special screening of the 1980-81 reconstruction of Meyerhold’s The Magnanimous Cuckhold.
