Pity City Ballet is inspired by the format of television interviews and late night talk shows. This work has been made with specific relationship to the history of public artwork, more specifically those made for corporate plazas within New York City, which the work treats as a character and protagonist. The talk show exchanges will inquire into the problems of monumental public artwork as well as the role of the artist with in a larger public dialogue, taking on both existing and fictionalized public art works. Curated by Cecilia Alemani.
