Raphaël Zarka
Paris-based artist Raphaël Zarka (b. 1977, Montpellier, France) is an essayist, artist, and collector. Influenced by minimalism and land art, Zarka’s work is based on an almost scientific research of spaces and forms. Major exhibitions include the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, Paris (2011); Museum of Contemporary Art, Detroit (2010); Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2010); Red October Chocolate Factory, Moscow (2010); and Blancpain Art Contemporain, Geneva (2008). Recent awards include the Richard Foundation Prize for Contemporary Art (2008) and the Paul Ricard S.A. Award (2008). Zarka is currently undertaking a residency at the Villa Medici, Rome.
