L’Encyclopédie de la parole
L’Encyclopédie de la parole is a collective of French artists dedicated to amassing and indexing speech recordings of all kinds. Through listening sessions, articles, conferences, performances, sound installations, workshops, games, and radio plays, L’Encyclopédie de la Parole tries to capture the remarkable diversity and subtlety of oral forms. Key artists in the collective include theater and visual artist Joris Lacoste, well-known in France for both playwriting and conceptual hypnosis performances; curator Grégory Castéra; actress Emmanuelle Lafon, who has appeared in films by Philippe Garrel and others; and artist and performer Frédéric Danos.
