At the close of another year at Performa, we send our heartfelt thanks to all of you for helping us present a lineup of critically acclaimed and inspiring public programs and exhibitions, including the packed to capacity "Why Dance in the Art World?" panel at Judson Church, and "Performance Now" a unique exhibition of contemporary performance at Wesleyan University, as well as our recent gala Relâche – The Party, which was truly a night to remember!
Now we’re busy planning Performa 13, the fifth edition of the Performa biennial, and we can’t wait to tell you about the thrilling new commissions, exhibitions, publications, panel discussions, surprise dinners and after-hours events that we’re planning for your pleasure and erudition! Once again, Performa artists and presenters will take over the city, from November 1 to 24, 2013, creating a dynamic three weeks of ideas and programming that engage with the most relevant issues in performance and contemporary art and culture today.
Since we established the first performance biennial in 2005, the interest in live performance has grown exponentially and it is now a serious focus in major cultural institutions everywhere. In 2013 we will stay at the forefront of the discussion, leading with our unique historic perspective and knowledge of contemporary performance from around the globe, taking the discussion further and deeper than any other organization.
As always, your tax-deductible contribution will make the Performa biennial a reality. We are the only international biennial anywhere in the world to be funded significantly by individuals like you, so your support is essential and deeply appreciated.
Please support us in producing our landmark fifth biennial, Performa 13 by making a year-end contribution today.
With all good wishes for a wonderful holiday season and an exciting year ahead!
